What are accesskeys? How do I use them on this website?
Accesskeys are keyboard shortcuts that are specific to the particular website to enable quick navigation to different sections of the site. For instance, if a link has an accesskey associated with it, then you can press a keyboard shortcut according to the accesskey to follow that link, instead of using your mouse or other navigation device.
To use an accesskey, for example, "x":
- Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Windows - press and hold 'Alt', followed by the accesskey, then 'Enter', e.g. "Alt + x, Enter".
- Macintosh - press and hold 'Ctrl', followed by the accesskey, then 'Enter', e.g. "Ctrl + x, Enter".
- Mozilla family of browsers (e.g. Mozilla, Firefox, Netscape,
K-Meleon, etc.)
- Windows/Linux - press and hold 'Alt', followed by the accesskey, e.g. "Alt + x".
- Macintosh - press and hold 'Ctrl', followed by the accesskey, e.g. "Ctrl + x".
- Apple Safari
- Macintosh - press and hold 'Ctrl', followed by the accesskey, e.g. "Ctrl + x".
- Opera
- Windows/Macintosh/Linux - press 'Esc' and 'Shift', then press the accesskey, e.g. "Esc + Shift, x".
